Event Details
Kelsey Montague, whose public art is designed to be interactive and shared on social media, will be installing a mural in the Roser ATLAS Center during the afternoon and into the evening on Feb. 3. Just as her art is public, so is the installation process—come by any time to watch and question; come by at 5 p.m. to also share pizza and light refreshments.
Montague’s murals specifically invite people to interact and share their experience online. “I believe that art should not be separated from the human experience. Instead the human experience should have a hand in creating the art itself,” says Montague.
After studying art in Florence, and graduating from Richmond University in London with a degree in Art, Design & Media, Montague spent four years developing her style in New York City. Her work has been featured by The New York Times, Forbes, Entertainment Weekly, MTV, Buzzfeed,Refinery 29 here , and here, Mashable, Taylor Swift ,Carly Rae Jepsen, LA Times, GE , GE Lighting, Vanessa Hudgens , Yahoo, Gotham Magazine, Publishers Weekly, Guest of a Guest, The Culture Trip, BFA, Lockerdome, Texas Public Radio, Channel 9 News Denver , The Aucklander , Paste Daily, The Vail Daily , Good4Utah , The Sunshine Coast Daily, Platinum Properties, Fresh Living ,Profile Magazine, Smart Creative Women, Ugly Magazine, The New Orleans Advocate,WGNewOrleans and The Wall Street Journal.
