Event Details

Composer and Shakuhachi player Aidan Patrick Cook presents a bold new performance experience. Join for an evening-length cosmic meditation on the nature of sound and space, and how sound reacts with resonating bodies, including our own.

A lifelong resident of Boulder, Aidan Patrick Cook’s music is driven by a quest to reconcile Zen Buddhism with the act of composition. This struggle has led Cook to increasingly relinquish control over the sounds created. Astralogramy #1 represents the culmination of this struggle. With the help of the globe-trotting Altius String Quartet, this concert experience offers a sonic landscape for curious minds to enter and explore. Sprawl out on a cushion, lie back and sink into a tableau of sound unlike anything you’ve ever heard.

The performances will be at 8 PM on Friday, October 13th and Saturday, October 14th.
