Mobile UX Design

The explosive market of mobile applications and services presents new challenges and considerations for designers.  In this workshop, you’ll expand your user experience (UX) thinking to portable devices.  We will rapidly iterate concepts through wireframing and light-weight prototyping to develop a deeper understanding of mobile best practices with an emphasis on designing for the user.

Workshop Facilitator: Drew Cogbill

Drew Cogbill is a mobile producer with a keen understanding of mobile user experience. Currently working as an executive producer at Small Planet Digital, Drew leads iPhone, iPad, and Android App project teams. Clientele include Disney, Oakley, Fujifilm, and Cooking Light Magazine. He has worked on over 40 apps in fields such as gaming, healthcare, e-commerce, consumer products, education, and IoT.  These apps have been used in enterprise settings as well as been downloaded millions of times from the Apple App Store and Google Play. Drew received his MFA in Design and Technology from Parsons in 2009. His background is in chemistry and music—he studied both subjects in college and wrote his thesis on nanotechnology. Drew works and lives with his family in Brooklyn, NY.

ATLAS Studio Intensives are all-day hands-on workshops presented by invited guests and industry professionals. Offered a few times each semester, the sessions are unique opportunities to develop skills and interact with other graduate and undergraduate students in a small, collaborative setting.  Space is limited and open to currently enrolled ATLAS or TAM students.
